Olive trees and Verticillium
In collaboration with Prof. Tom Gordon Laboratory, Plant Pathology UC Davis, collecting isolates of Verticillium pathogens from diseased olive trees. Assesment of High Density and Super High Density olive materials for their response to California’s olive tree Verticillium pathogens.
Pepper Transformation Protocol
In collaboration with the Tissue Culture and Plant Transformation Facility at UCD we developed an efficient protocol for transforming pepper with Agrobacterium.
Pepper Fruit Improvement
Using mutagenesis and targeted selection in collaboration with Semillas Fito, IRTA and Arcadia Biosiences Inc. we produced a collection of mutant lines suitable to fingerprint by TILLING to identify pepper fruits with desirable properties in shelf life, vitamins and micronutrient content.
Cucumber Vein Yellowing Virus Elisa Test
The components for an ELISA test for the CVYV virus were developed to facilitate the detection of the CVYV virus that all but decimated the production of cucumbers in South Eastern Spain in the 2001-2002 seasons.
